That Fish Store!!

Has anyone been to a place in Lancaster PA called That Fish Store? So I helped my grandma run her yard sale this past weekend and put my 75g bow front out. Well an old timer walked up on Sunday and first words out of his mouth was “ so your into saltwater tanks” lol at first I took a step back until I realized he seen the drilled tank. Well apparently this dude had pet shops in Florida moved here and setup up tanks for a living. So natural I invited him in to show of my little slice of heaven.(which by the way said looked really good and I did a really nice job) but anyway. He mentioned a fish store in PA called That Fish Store and said the place was really good and had awesome prices. For 15$ he could get an Anemones bigger than a softball. Just wondering if anyone has been there and their thoughts on the the place.

I have not heard of it but I do love road trips. My wife likes Lancaster so maybe I can talk her into a road trip lol only issue I currently don't have a tank.

I’ve heard of it but us nothern folk don’t travel that far down.

Ru planning on going back? If so could you grab an email from them?
I haven’t been there yet was actually thinking about going Sunday and making a day trip out of it with the kids. So for the late reply I’ve been crazy busy. But I’ll definitely grab an email for you. Maybe I’ll take some pics and make a thread so everyone can see what the place is like.

You guys must be young ha ha. The original store was called That Fish Place (TFP). The business model was like Costco - a huge warehouse where you get goods cheap. But don't expect expert advice. The "biologists on staff" are just names they give to the summer staffers. There is a large touch tank for kids to mess around with. In my opinion the saltwater fish area isn't great. It is a warehouse after all. Mind you my last trip there was during their annual blow out sale and the place was a mad house. Factoring gas and tolls to get there, you need to determine how much you want to buy to make it worth the trip (also don't forget paying sales tax). otherwise ordering online you save on tax but pay the shipping. $149 or more for free shipping on live goods.

The blow out anniversary sale may be worth the trip - but you have to get there early to get the ridiculous deals. A couple years back it was a 150 gallon tank for all of $1. Back then cars were parked on the grass because they couldn't handle the masses... I think their anniversary is April.

They do have a large FW selection if that's what you want. Also there were a lot of KOI and pond stuff. Just imagine a petco but on massive steroids.

Been there a few times. As stated it is a huge warehouse like atmosphere and walk down rows of tanks it did have a nice touch tank.
Was hard to get help in the fish section and last time I was there many moons ago you had to take a number....HA
They used to have a nice reptile section as my son and I went there for an "expo" if you will. Have a pic of him holding an Anaconda somewhere....LOL

So back then were the cars actually horse and buggy? Lol I’m just trying to learn about the place to see if it’s worth going out too. Never been and not sure I’ll ever be there.

There was a frag swap there maybe 2 months ago? A few of the semi local youtubers were there and made videos, innapropriate reefer, dc reefer ect. Theres some shots of the store itself if you want to see the size of it, ect.

I dropped my ex-wife and girls off at Tanger Outlets and then went there with my son.
It was about 20 minutes away. Best use of time IMO.
