Ok so how do you know you are a reef geek? You are excited and about you spent a Friday night drinking wine and playing with LED fixtures. We added a fixture so we now have 5 over the tank which makes the tank much brighter. We also swapped three of the blue actinic bulbs out and added red, green and purple LEDs. Really happy I bought the mazarras as it was so easy to swap the leds and we swapped the lenses to 100 degrees on the bulbs we switched out to make sure we did not have any spot lighting. New pictures up soon.
Light Update: I decided to take advantage of the functionality of my Mazarras and swapped out some LEDs and also added a fifth fixture. So I added one red, one green and one purple LED to each fixture (15 bulbs in all) and I really like the way it looks. It was super simple to do as I am the anti DIY person, I could even switch the bulbs out.
Equipment update: Got a fish acclimation box for adding new fish. After using this thing, I recommend that every person out there go and buy one. There really is not better way to add new fish to your system than using this box. The pair of fish I had in there were in there for about 48 hours and swam out without a single touch of aggression. Here is the box:
Since I used an acclimation box, you know what that means, new fish!!!
