Thanks guys, we are very happy with our new additions.
The urchin and the tang are both going to work on the macro algae in the DT, which is making me happy
We also picked up a trio of high fined gobies from ACC yesterday (Hockeynut, you inspired me) and added them to our DT. If they behave like the other small gobies I add to the DT, I should start seeing them in 3 to 6 months

Whats that bottom fishie ? Its so cool the spots are so jungly !
Unfortunately we lost them. We keep our tank around 75 maybe even a touch lower. I think the tank mates in there are a little to boistrous for the anthias. We will see going forward if we try them again.
Magnificent goby, we do not see them pop up all that often. This was a pair we got from DD about a year ago that are now spawning for us.

Even with a big tank, we are still small fish people so we decided to change up our stocking plan yet again. We caught and moved out a few fish due to some aggression issues and we added a bunch of new fish. Unfortunately we did lose some fish, but that is the hobby. The current fish list looks something like this:

We were struggling with aggression from some of the larger wrasses, so over the course of the last 6 weeks we have given the three bullies away.
Our goal is a peaceful community tank.
I have been dreaming of a school of assessor basslets for about 4 years now, and Mike made it a reality for me yesterday, he ordered 6 ORA gold assessor basselets from Trop for me!
i think you should give us photos of these gorgeous fish.
how are the helfrichs firefish? im planning on getting one.
any info would be great.
Helfrichi firefish is one of our all time favorites. They will jump so make sure you have a covered tank, look for a good healthy one at the store and make sure it is eating. They will be one of the first fish to show signs of ick in a system so it helps if your system is clean. Rock work with some caves is also a good idea as it will give them a bolt hole to go to when they get scared, which they will as they are a pretty timid fish.
Kev, yes those were ours. After talking to ORA at MACNA we followed their advice and had Trop place and order for them even though they were not on the ORA list. If your local fish store carries ORA, just ask them when they order next. With the buy one get one 1/2 off they were like $45 a fish which is a steal. Their color is a little lighter than our original pair, and they don't have any of the cool reds that have devolped on our other two, but that will take time. Our original assesor is from MACNA 2009 when ORA had just released them.
Our MACNA haul is doing well. The zoas and palys (which was like 70%) of our order are doing well, maybe one or two losses which is tg be expected. The SPS are doing well with some more losses but as my favorite quote about SPS is "Why do SPS die? Because they can." The LPS is doing well, no losses there so far so good but we only bought like 5 pieces.
Depending on how I feel tonight I will try and snap off some pics, I don't like to jinx new fish and corals with pictures.

That's a tough call to remove the fish. Which ones were acting up?
We pulled a pylie wrasse, rosefasciata wrasse, and the one that hurt the most our lineatus wrasse. The rosefasciata was a mistaken ID that we would have never put in the tank if I had known it was a rose as they are known for aggression. The pylie was picking on the attenuatus and some of the smaller wrassses which was an easy decision as he is a nice fish but nothing spectacular. It was kind of an impulse buy as we wanted one years ago but did not have the tank size for it and when we upgraded we found one at Trop for a killer price and just bought it. The lineatus was a spectacular fish with amazing colors on him and in my humble opinion the nicest lineatus that I have ever seen. He was one of our first big fish buys and was a stunner, however he picked on everyone in the tank. We tried several different species of anthia in the tank and they would all start out fine then begin to hide and then just vanish. We had been talking about the gold assesors for a long time and figured now was the time to pull him. We thought of moving him to the frag tank but he is a true jumper so that was out of the question so back to Trop he went to live out his days in the 1600g display.
That is unfortunate. It may come to a point when I need to make a decision on my lineatus also. He and my rhomboid took turns as the top dog of my 120, but the aggression was never too bad. When I moved them over to the big tank it escalated after a month and the rhomboid took a serious beating. I tried for about two weeks to get the rhomboid out to let it recover in my qt. It started to look like it was starting to get better some I decided not to stress it out further and let it be. Unfortunately it didn't make it. I think the similar body shapes lead to the aggression because it didn't bother any of the other wrasses or other fish. The only other fish it fights with is my midas blenny... Go figure. I'd like to add some other wrasses. I may just try moving it to my qt when it comes time to introduce the other fish to let them establish themselves.
