The great T5 question…what bulbs

36” four bulb fixture
Tank is 12” deep, lights 4” above water
Want bluish 16k+ look with big color pop

The options (front to back)…

Blue+ Blue+ Actinic Blue+

Blue+ Blue+ Purple+ Blue+

Blue+ Purple + Blue+ Actinic
(too reddish on the last one?)

Experiences appreciated.

I like option 2 with the purple+, the purple plus gets the reds to pop which I don't think the other bulbs get.

Been a long time since I had T5 but I did use purple plus and blue actinic. Just cannot remember the combo.

As a side note my tank ended up looking noticeably better when I dialed in a little purple on my LED’s. I realize we are talking T5 s but I believe the principle Carrie’s with the technology

Gotta say two things.

1. BRS is incredible when it comes to shipping these things to avoid breakage, they make it an art.

2. This being the first time I'm running, from front to back, a B+B+P+B+, I doubt I'll ever use another combination, it rocks the tank. If I could fit 6 over it I'd add another B+ and an actininc (or another P+)
