The NFL this past weekend...

The Giants game sounded like the place was rocking. Must have been a blast for you guys who went. It's amazing how the playoffs you can tell the intensity of the games are ratcheted up so much. Too bad the 1st qtr was so dull...unless you want to watch punters...hahaha.

Did anyone watch the night game on sunday? Broncos vs. Steelers.

The prognosis from the star ledger sums up pretty much what everyone thought outside of Colorado:
There likely won't be much success for the Broncos against a Pittsburgh defense that was No. 1 overall (first against the pass, eighth against the run), and allowed just 271.8 yards per game and 14.2 points per game.

Probably why i shouldn't bother reading the local paper for scouting reports on non-NJ teams. When I told a friend that the 3rd Qtr score was 20 to 13, he was like - oh the broncos are keeping it close. I was like - dude - they are (shockingly) winning! As we watched the 4th qtr though, he was like man - the thing with tebow (denver QB) is that he can't throw accurately. (then tebow badly underthrows a wide open receiver) - SEE SEE! i was like yeah -they are doomed. (Then Steelers tie the game at 23).

Anyways - the OT was crazy. If you went to the bathroom for a minute the game was over. As the play unfolded I said - denver's running it again. Then when he went to pass - I said out loud - oh what is he doing, they should make him run the ball. Then I was just so flabbergasted that the guy (D.T) caught it and ran it in. Crazy crazy game.

I was looking forward to see the new playoff overtime rule go into effect! So much for that.

The Denver game was crazy!! Every time you think Tebow is done, he pulls another miracle out of his hat. I was at the Giant game and the place was rocking like I have never heard before. They will have to play even better to beat GB, but who knows. So much for "one and done" LOL.

So lucky! I wish I could go to a playoff atmosphere like game.

It would be amazing if the G-men can pull out another win away on the road against a quality team like GB.

tebow is something else. Of course if the jets had beaten the broncos (held that 4th qtr lead) then the broncos don't even go to the playoffs. would the raiders have played pitts? would the jets have taken the place of the bengals to play houston? woulda coulda shoulda.

I wish I was at that Giants game!! I gave my tickets away stupidly.

The last playoff game I was at that the Giants actually won was in 2000...when they beat the Vikings 41-0 in the NFC Conference game. That was incredible!! It was so loud, you couldn't hear what the next person was saying to you and we didn't sit the entire game. The only time we sat was during halftime.

I think the Giants can beat the Pack if they continue to increase their play as they have been doing the past few weeks. And I'm sorry....when they put Osi, Tuck & JPP on the line at the same time...that was crazy!! If they can get pressure and get Rodgers on the ground...they will win this game!!

Tebow....oh Tebow....I highly dislike him!! He can't throw the ball to save his life....and I'm tired of all the Tebowing....he's only another guy...he's nothing more. Way too much hype around him!!

But I will give him credit....he beat the Steelers....not an easy feat.

The AFC though is not as strong as it used to be....the NFC definitely has the more dominate teams now!!

And Brees is unreal!! He is playing unconscious ball right now!!

if the front office at Indy ever drafted well or helped put players around peyton manning -that team should've had a half dozen trophies.

Anyways - the G-men's d-line have to play well because if we have some kind of nickel back situation - you know Rodgers will be looking for whoever aaron ross is covering.

I'm with you on Tebow. He'll keep running until someone gets a solid shot on him then he'll think about it before he runs.

Actually, james harrison, the all-pro linebacker is supposed to be one of the nastiest LBs and tacklers. Somehow though he could never line up and get a "solid shot" on that game. ESPN/Tom Jackson did a quick review of a couple plays where he was the tackler and the read-option just totally confused harrison. First he keyed on the runner (mcgahee) then he had to go back on his heels thinking pass, then when he realized tebow was running, he was tackling ankles/legs by then.

Eventually teams will figure this out. Just like the G-men figured out randall cunningham (remember him?).

irony/history - the broncos were "supposed" to pick former ND QB "Jimmy Clausen" - the NFL scouts pick for the best QB after sam bradford. Where is that dude now? riding the pine behind Cam Newton (another in the mold of cunningham).

as for tebowing - i think that's pretty funny. It's better than planking! (easier and less dangerous too!).

I hoping to see Tebow 'planking' in the next game!

:livid: Let me say that most of the throws Tebow made I could have made as the receiver just broke free afterwards. I don't understand how people can say he was amazing without adding lucky to the statement. Half his throws bounced before they got to the receiver for that matter. Gosh I hate to cheer for any team in the AFC other then Houston....Go Texans:miserable:.
I can jump on the Giant bandwagon I guess, no major moral codes being broken.

I agree Tebow is very lucky IMO. I watched a few games and to see him back up so much to avid a sack and get sacked anyway is not amazing just dumb. The two games I saw he lost 28 yards and the other I think was 15 yards.

As for AFC

Go Patriots!!!

Went to the Giants game... place was louder than anything i've ever experienced!!!! totally amazing and worth every penny!!! can't wait to take on green bay!! although i feel terrible for their Offensive coordinators son...

As long as your not rooting for the team named in honor of a demented poet Im OK with that.

Im going to have to go with the G-men on this as well. I don't see the Bronco's going anywhere else. The steelers were hobbled with injuries with the biggest of them being a healthy scratch (Ryan Clark) He has been the cornerstone of there pass D this year without him they just fell apart.

The real troubles in the NFC. I want to see a Packers vs Saint NFC Championship.

Go Patriots!!!

HAHAH - excellent excellent - check out this photo story - as a pats fan (or for those of you who are anti-pats fans, there is plenty to like in it) you would find it hilarious.

Someone did some great photoshop work on this.

f it comes up just a small spread of pics (line), place the mouse over the line and click the "Expand" button. Read and enjoy!

Staring Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, special "guest star" Tim Tebow.

James Harrison lookin like confused dog out there. They challenged the guy to throw and he threw, weather he did it in a cute pretty way doesnt mean anything. They won.

He keeps winning when it counts, the broncos beat the number one defense in the league. It didnt matter how they did it, they did it. Guess who also beat down the patriots, the steelers. That was Tebows first game vs the patriots and the coaches held him from throwing. In the Steelers game they let him play his game.
