the prizm skimmer

im setting up a 36 gallon tank.i bought the prizm skimmer from a friend.it is brand new and i paid only 25 bucks. im a little desapointed because a heard they are really noisy and hard to get it to work.is it true???, should i get another one?
 
i used one on my 20 gal for 6 years. i thought it was ok for small tanks
just be sure to keep it cleen for optimal performance. gl ....al

I had the Prizm Deluxe a couple of years ago. It's not that great of a skimmer. Constant adjustment to keep it in the sweetspot.

had a prizm deluxe on my 55 and worked pretty good compared to the cost. now my brother uses it on the same tank.. i bought mine on ebay for cheap then upgraded it

I used one on my 55 and it worked fine. I just skimmed more on the wet side and be sure to keep it clean.
 
hit or miss. hard to tune at times. a bit noisy. but you already have it so you might as well give it a shot. I've run them on smaller tanks in the basement where noise isn't a big factor. water evaporation makes a big difference on how it opperates.
