Thinking about Selling fish

I've been thinking about selling most of my fish for a while now and I think I'm at the point where I'm going to. The tank is a 150 gallon half circle with a lot of hiding spaces in the rock. What I need to know is how to catch them. I would appreitiate any help!

Thanks,
Andrew

If you plan on keeping the tank setup them buy or build a fish trap. If you are breaking down the tank then you can remove the rock and net them.

Andrew, use a homemade bottle trap. Here’s what you need to do:

1. Buy a large bottle of soda (I think it’s a two liter bottle.)
2. Drink all the soda in one sitting.
3. Burp
4. Burp
5. Don't let Mayor Bloomberg know that I told you to drink that much soda
6. And burp once more.
7. Rinse out the bottle.
7. Cut off the top of the bottle (I'll show you using a water bottle since I’ve already made mine)

8. You’ll also want to cut out the original opening so that your largest fish would fit through it. (I didn’t do this with this water bottle example)

9. Turn the top of the bottle around and push it back into the lower bottle portion.

10. I now took a paper hole punch and put a couple holes around the lip of the bottle (through both pieces of plastic) and secured the two halves with a couple wire ties. Here’s my actual trap.

11. Now there is one more little thing you need to do and that is to poke a hole in the middle of the bottle, big enough to fit your turkey baster. You can see the hole in the picture above. What you now do is put the trap in your tank and, using your turkey baster, squirt some taste food into the trap. Keep the turkey baster in the hole and every so often re-squirt water into the trap. This will create a snow-globe effect with the food, making it easier for the fish to see it.

I have typically caught a fish within minutes using this little trap.

Good luck

I have used a modified version of this trap catch paranoid fish...

The bottle cap opening I stick a tube into so I can send food into the trap without spooking the fish. The bottom is cut off and reattached on one side with a tie strap. The other side has fishing line attached to it and through a hole in the end of the main part of bottle. Throw a rock inside to weight the trap down and when the fish goes in you pull the fishing line. The door slams shut and you have your fish... Hope this helps.

Thanks Jim but I made the kind of trap that Paul put instructions to like an hour after he posted lol. It worked really well. Thanks to everyone else too.
