Most of us use no bag.

I never measured. I just fill mine up for 175gallon water volume.
When you get it from the group buy's, theres no reason to skimp since the price can't be beat. ;D

I heart that I was more worried about using too much and effecting other parameters.

I never had a problem using too much. I even used a full reactor full on a 75gallon tank.
