What about the idea of an outreach from the club to a school or two? That seems like an awesome idea.
Reaching out to the schools is a great idea. I have given my kid's teacher the Tetra info for three years now. The first time they were able to get a 10gal tank and set it up a freshwater tank. The second year the teacher wasn't interested and this year they adopted chinchillas instead. The only down side is that no one wants to care for the critters when school is out during the summer. My son convinced me to take the fish that first as he had a 20gal freash tank. Unfortunately, the fish wern't compatible and only 1 survived which we gave back in September that year.
Also, Sandy Hook is home to a high school called M.A.S.T. I think it stands for Marine Acedamy of Science and Technology. Would be a good place to start.
