Looks like a real nice build that you are putting together. One suggestion would be to reconsider the Scott's wrasses especially if you want to keep other fairy wrasses. They are reported to be very aggressive towards other fairy wrasses. Also with the flame wrasse pair, it might make more sense to just go with one. That really goes with all fairy wrasses. Most times when you get two females or a male/female pair you end up with two males and have to remove one.

A few things about the light...

My First choice was to try and buy a used ATI 6bulb Sunpower or Powermodule if I could find one. My other choice was to try and pickup on of the OceanRevive lights and go LED for my new cube. It was only happenstance while reviewing someone elses 60 Gallon build that I cam upon a thread throwing various possible lighting fixtures that could be used around. I clicked through a link and ended up in the coralvue outlet and was shocked to see up to 8 BULB 24" fixtures being sold for 100 dollars FLAT. I jumped at the opportunity and figured it was a 100 dollar throwaway if the fixture turned out to be crap.

6 Bulb T5 Fixture with an evenly spaced 5 1watt LED's with optics to disperse the light. The LED"s are Super Blue Blue (Not Purple Blue). Each Pair of T5 tubes are controllable! ATI does not let you do that.. The fan is also controllable. The Fixtures cords are loomed in a black loom leading to a juncture box with individual cables and switches. (Nice Touch CoralVue). Should be added that the reflectors under the T5's are individual parabolic reflectors that look amazing.

Overall I would choose this fixture over the ATI. The fact that it uses 3 ballasts for the PAIRS of T5's means that I can easily replace ballasts with better or the same ballasts and not have to worry about 1 ballast taking out a whole bank of T5's.

Nice find and good luck with it. I've been thinking of going back to T5 for my 180. I would jump on that 60" 8 bulb if I though it would cover the whole 6' tank. but im not sure the 6" short on either side would make a difference.

John, once centered over the tank the 6" on either side wouldnt matter... and the lower par on those sides would make it great for accilmating corals and any softies/lps, chalices you want to keep....

Agreed... I had two 80 watt fixtures over my 300 and there was no real shadowing on the sides.
