I just switched out my lights to new Giesemann's, went to turn them on to check out the color and their not firing up. Yesterday everything worked fine. The halide plug on my aqua spacelight is extremely hot after being plugged in for about 15 minutes. Any idea's why ??? These are dual 250's HQI. Suggestions?

To update this, I switched back to my old lights and everything is working fine, any ideas as to why the Giesemann's won't fire up ???

They actually look different, and there is a rattle type noise. The center of the bulb is turned 90 degrees from the other halide bulbs I have.
If it was single-endded it would be easy to say, but since it is double-endded it is a bit strange that the socket is receiving enough power to heat the matearial and not enough to heat the elemnt inside the bulb. That would indicate that there is some kind of resistance in the part that generates the heat.
I would simply try to return the bulb and exchange it for a new one.

I spoke to Jeremy at PA, I ordered two more and they will reimburse me when they receive the return
