You should have saved that one for the POTM.

+1
Yeah I should have. I forgot about that.
Just hooked up the new light. I lost all the pop due to it having 10k halides but I'll b getting some 15k's as soon as some more $ is available. It's nice having light from end to end.

Looks great. Have you noticed any changes due to the new light fixture?

PS. Are you getting out of Dodge in the path of Irene?

Nothing negative in changes. Sps is starting to color up nicely. I'm going to take aparty icecap light and adapt the led tubes to the new light to get some pop out though. I'm really glad I went with the light. Nothing but good so far.
We are staying put since power will most likely go out and I'm gonna have to keep the tank alive. I've got a 1200 and 2400 wtt inverter that hooks to the car battery to run a pump, skimmer and the compacts so hopefully power will come back on before our 3 cars run outta gas

gas

I was considering adding a few ecoxotic stunner strips for that same reason...of course if I knew then what I know now...LOL.

PS Be safe my friend.

I like the radiums and phoenix bulbs. They look great on the tank. The icecap led tubes should really set. It off. If it seems like too much of a project, stunners are next on the list

Are you sure you will see anyting with the led tubes??? When I have my t5's running they totallly wash out the leds....meaning I can turn the leds off or on and see absolutely no difference. I would imagine Halides would do the same.

Be safe and good luck weathering the storm.

+1 on IceCap LED strips. I use them as first lights on, last lights off....they are more of a moonlight then supplemental. If I leave them on with my T5's, don't even know they are on....what Taz said, washed out.

How about the stunners? I'm just looking for a little pop. I've thought of taking out the compacts and doing a t5 retro with super act and blue plus also.

Tank looks great. The new bulbs makeit look much better. I'm still a big fan of the MH bulbs. It seams most people have either switched to T5 or LED.

Good luck with the storm. Hopefully, everything will survive.
