LOL. Well everytime I'm there I see that black couch. I see the one depression has filled in much better and I say to Wil - Napoli? he nods. Then I look at the other side that is nice and worn and I say - Blange?

The short answer is color.

Metallic bright coloration is sometimes referred to as ultra grade or electric.

The still attractive, but less brightly colored clams often are referred to as 1st grade.

Reef Encounter does have a few clams, a few are 60 and one was 80. Im not sure if they were ultra grade or not.

Just to close this one off. Thanks again for everyones help. I made the trip up to AO and came away with a nice Metallic Blue Maxima and an orange ricordea.

If anyone had been looking at me, I am sure it appeared like I had mental health issues when I glanced over at the couch and started laughing. ;D
