Urchin lost spines

Here is a good shot of my tux urchin. Any idea why it lost all the spines?

Honestly, have not tested that in quite some time. I gave all my API kits away so none available. I did a 10g WC over the weekend.

Going through notes. I see in March Nitrate was about 20ppm down from 60ppm.

Mark, our urchin lost a bunch of spines a few months ago. I thought (but had no way to verify) it was starving. However, target feeding with nori pulled it through and it now once again has spines. Worth a shot!
