Be careful if using your hands to break off the tube. I had one on one of my mushroom rocks that was getting tangled in the shrooms. My idiot self just used my fingers to snap it off and ended up cutting my thumb in the process. Got lucky with no infection. Use pliers if you have to.

OK COOL. I DID SOME READING TODAY AND FOUND A FEW PAGES ABOUT TIGER LEG HERMITS, THEY SUPPPOSEDLY DO THE TRICK BUT OTHER PAGES SAID NO..OH WELL. I ALSO READ THAT THEY ARE ACTUALLY GOOD CORAL FOOD AS THEIR LARVAE ARE FREE FLOATING

The only thing I saw was hermits too or a copper band butterfly (bit large for your tank...unless you are upgrading ;D)

they are a real nuisance. Not so much that they aren't reef safe - it's just that they can proliferate if you tend to feed heavy or skim light.

if you find something that works - please post back. I'd be interested.

signed (tired of scraping them off with pliers/scrappers/screw drivers) (and not willing to reduce fish population). ;)

Vermentid snails ...... Grrrrrrr

They are a critter fed by issues in your tank and are tougher to beat then any algea. As said before, watch feeding and improve filtration.

Try a hermit, but it may eat other things too, I can't keep snails with anyhting but scarlets. Good thing I like scartelts! :D
