VorTech MP40

So, I'm thinking about buying this monster but I'm not sure if it's truly worth it. I already have two K2's and a Rio 600 pushing water in my tank plus the return pump but when I look at this glorious piece of art, I can't help but drool over the SPS magic I will make.

I need you guys to sway me. Do I get it, or do I forget it?

IMO, Vortechs are only good for tanks over like 70 gallons, anything smaller its becomes the only powerhead in your tank, I find it much better to have more then one point source for your flow to come from.

I prefer tunze or the controllable koralias.

I have a Vortech MP40W on my 46 mixed reef and love it. I bought it with a future upgrade in mind.
If you are looking for flow in a small tank this will do it. Tunze's are great but they take up a lot of space.

I'm planning on getting one at the Aquatic Obsession Anniversay sale.

It's going to be a real good deal.

I like flow with surges and am planning on replacing my 4 maxijets running this in lagoon mode pretty close to minimum power. I have a 180.

It's a 65 gallon RR with corner overflow. I've heard that there can be some problems with the wave action and corner overflows. Is this true?

It can, but it does depend on what mode you run it on from what I understand. Reef Crest during the day and lagoon at night seems popular though
