I just lost the ballast over a fuge, and the endcaps are pretty bad, so I'm looking for a replacement. If anyone has any old power compact fixture or retrofit please PM. Thanks!! Dave

Hey man! I use a power strip that I use 3m double sided tape to attach to the bottom of the display tank ( the kind the use for automotive trim- super sticky) then I got a couple of lightbulb adapters that plug into the power strip, also secured with the tape. I then got a couple of 5k led flood lamps to screw into the adapters. The bulbs are like $10 a piece at Home Depot and work great so the total cost was only like $30. And they run about 14 watts for the 2 of them. My chaeto and mangrove are very happy. HTH

I had wondered if those LED bulbs would work for a refugium. I think I even searched on reefcentral about it but there were no threads. Thx for the tip.

I have my old power compact coral view fixture that was over my 90g before I upgraded my lights. I also use one of those 3w Cree bulbs I got from Home Depot in my fuge. Seems to work fine.

Best refugium light I've ever used was a 6500k cf spiral bulb in a regular socket with a dome reflector. Cost about $10 total lol
