Water Change ?

I did a water change today and some coral were exposed above the water line, see pic. I am wondering now if I should drain from the sump now instead if display tank. Thoughts?

Taking it out of the sump would be ideal to lessen stress on the corals I suppose. I know wild conditions some corals in tidal pools will get exposed.
That said, I don’t think I’ve ever lost a coral from being exposed for a short period of time.

It’s fine as long as it wasn’t crazy long and you weren’t blasting them with high light and heat, drying them out.

Heaters are off during WC. Just the Revive lights on so I can see.

Sorry by heat I meant, heat off a t5, or very strong leds.

I wouldn't worry about like maximus said as long as it's not for extended amounts of time it should be fine. I have had sps hanging out of the water for a few minutes during changes.

I always pump water from the sump and not the display.
That way you don’t suck up fish or disturb corals.
I also fill it by the sump so that it can be less stressful for the Corals
