Hello all, I've been trolling the forum and have meet a few members and scored some nice frags from them in my travels and today i e-mailed my membership app. I hope to one day pay it forward with a new person to the saltwater world.
my bio:
Born and raised in NJ, moved to Brooklyn for a little while out of college until the economy tanked so I came back. I've always had freshwater with for as long as i can remember, even through college but about 2 years ago I gave all my fish away and changed over to saltwater. I've been hooked ever since.

Hello everyone, first post here. My name is Tom, and I am from Bradley Beach in southern Monmouth County. I got into aquariums 3 years ago with a 30G freshwater tank with fake everything. I got into live plants and loved it. Always dreaming of having salt and fresh water side by side, I took the plunge and began building a tank setup at the beginning of this past summer. The build took over a month, cycling another two, then I gradually added fish, inverts, and just recently coral. My tank has been relatively healthy so far, due to the storm I lost 1 chromis and my pin cushion urchin is rather lethargic, but other than that the tank is solid. I'd love to meet others close by and talk about setups and learn from each other. I was a member of a car club a while back, and we had meets at each other's places to install or check out new parts people got. Anyone up for doing the same but with aquariums instead? My LFS is Tropaquarium.
My setup:
40G tall tank with 10G sump
~80lbs live rock
Coralife Protein Skimmer 65
Eheim Compact+ 1000 pump
Coralife T5HO 4 bulb fixture
My livestock:
1 green chromis
2 clowns
1 long nose hawk
1 long spined urchin
1 pin cushion urchin
1 pencil-type urchin
1 torch coral
1 xenia coral
Assorted snails and hermit crabs
