Well, we've done it now too!

John was trying to recover a starfish that had gotten tossed into our overflow box today and when he shifted the canopy it came down hard. Luckily the tank is still in tact. He commented on how he was surprised that none of the bulbs broke...

The real surprise was that one of our single ended reflux bulbs had shattered buy stayed lit! Luckily I was in there cleaning the front glass when I noticed a small piece of the glass on the sand bed. Hopefully I got to it before any damage was done.

Crazy bulbs.

The canopy is fine. It just slid off the rail and landed on the edge of the tank.

Glad everything is ok! Minus the bulb...

Hmmm . . . maybe once *someone* goes to sleep I can go examine it a little more closely with a hammer

That was so good, Brian, it beared repeating!! The only thing that tank's going to be replaced with is a House on a Lake!

What's with the lake? Get some tropical ocean front property so water changes are cheaper. :)

Ok, Ocean front property and a 210 filled with beer!

Sounds good but we already have the property at the Lake. Just need the house now.

Sweat on the lake property!

John you were lucky the canopy got caught on the tank and didn't fall inside. Otherwise you could have joined my club. :)

Yikes! That's not a club I want to join. Not that I really wanted to join this club either, though . . .

I'm a two-time member of that club John. First time was about 25 years ago and luckily on a fresh water tank where the fish-fry didn't cost to much to replace.

Second time was right around Easter time this past year on my reef tank. Luckily I had the Shock Buster devices hooked up on my lights and as soon as the lights hit the water with me still holding onto it (not good) it tripped the device. I got what I'd call a very mild instant buzz (didn't really sting). Nothing got hurt and after letting the lights dry out for a few days they worked like a champ. That $12 shock buster was probably the best money I've spend yet on my equipment.
