What’s up with GFO

Is it me or did the price of Gfo go up? I haven’t bought in a while but I am coming close to an end of my gfo supply. I don’t remember it being this expensive and I’m talking about regular gfo not the high capacity stuff.

A lot of aquarium supplies are jumping in prices due to the shipping container shortage (basically as the world reopens the shipping companies aren't caught up yet so there are big premiums on having things shipped from abroad) so I am not shocked to hear prices went up on that. Might want to check some LFS that might have some stuff at the old prices and see if you can ride it out until prices drop again (if they do).

It's with everything!!!! Go buy wood for home projects or PVC pipe. Those prices have about tripled. I've stopped building stuff and put projects on hold. And forget about chlorine for your pool. If you don't have a hold-over supply from last year, it can't be found. It's worse than the toilet paper shortage a year ago. And I'm sure when it's available again, prices will be through the roof.

Yep just spent 170.00 on chlorine tablets form a local pool supplier. They were not easy to find. And yes wood is through the roof. I refuse to pay 8.00 for a 2x4.

Leslie Pools in parsippany has plenty of chlorine tabs. Fully stocked store. I paid $115 for a 35# bucket, but haven’t bought them in a while so I don’t recall if that price is high or not.
