What do you guys think of this...

Thinking about putting a topic on the POTM contest.

For example making each month's submissions be on a certain subject.

July - Zoas
August - Tangs
September - LPS
and so on...

Anyone think that this maybe a good idea?

I think its a good idea. You might also want to have one or every other month where its open to any picture related to the hobby.

I was going to do one month as an open month/anything goes.

I was thinking the same thing but at the same time what I'm hoping is that people will have a picture laying around and submit it because it fits the "subject" ... it also will give some people an idea on what to shoot for the upcoming month.... in theory.

i like the idea ...but i agree it might limit the entries because some people who would otherwise enter might not have a shot of or an opertunity to photograph that months subject.

maybe try it for a few months or select a few months for specific subject only and see how it goes.

either way i'll try my best to get shots to enter

I like that idea too. Anybody out there with a good camera mine is terrible except for taking full moon shots, lol
