Saw this poll on another site and wanted to see what the local consensus is. I personally use LRS reef frenzy and KB reef formula. I use the LRS because of how clean and fresh it is, not to mention my fish seem to love it. I use the KB reef formula due to the fact that it has both chunky and fine food in it for both corals and fish. Poll allows more than one choice if you use multiple foods.

I alternate between LRS reef frenzy and PE mysis. All of my fish seem to go after both foods. I plan to throw some Rod's into the rotation as well.

EDIT: When I feed PE mysis, I also throw in a half cube of Cyclopeeze or Omega One oyster eggs.

I mostly feed Omega One, but I really want to try Reef Frenzy. I have heard nothing but good things about it.

Accidently chose other. But I use a homemade blend that I came up with. I have used various others in the past like Rods, KB, and LRS. But at this point I can't see throwing my money away for something I can do better and far cheaper.

Amen to that John I feed almost exclusively home made except spectrum Thera+a pellets
I can't see spending 4 times as much on food that I can make in the blender in a short time

What is your exact recipe proportionately?

Not sure I can give you an exact recipe but I'll see what I can do. The original batch I made has lasted me more then a year and I gave a good bit away for other to try.
What I bought:
1lb each of clams, mussels, squid, scallops, and shrimp.
1 nice size piece of whatever fish filet they had. I think I got red snapper.
I roughly chopped everything up and mixed it all together. Everything that came out of the clams and mussels was added as well, all the juices, algea, and everything else they had in their shells.
1 package of PE Mysis
1 stick of frozen cyclopeez
1 small pack of fish eggs(next time I'll try to find fresh)
1 package rotifer

To that I added Nori, and a bunch of stuff I had laying around like reef reef roids, reef pearls, I think I put a bit of selcon in there. There was more, but I just kind of looked around and threw different stuff in there.

I did not add water of any kind except for the juices from the clams and mussels, which I figured would be good for the tank anyway.

Mixed it all up and into the food processor. I allowed some to remain a bit courser and also pretty much puréed some too to allow for a good bit of variation in particle size. Then sealed it up a froze it. Not counting for the stuff I had around the house already I think I spent about $35 on the whole thing. If I would not have given some away it would easily last me almost 2 years.

That's pretty much it. I only have enough left to get me through about January, so I'll be making more soon. Both of you are welcome come by for a piece of what I have left if you want to give it a try. Your both close after all. And if your interested you can join me in a batch of the stuff. Me and Dan K have tossed around the idea as well.

Actually anyone that's interested is more then welcome to join me when I make some more.
