10 (depending on the brand/par) are better for growth, 14s better for color. The ultimate are the 6500s but only Merv can tolerate that much yellow over his tank ;D

yeesh. i look at old pics now and wonder how I did it. I still have the bulbs though. Maybe I'll tease the corals into thinking they lost their ozone layer tonight :)
 
Since I get up late and stay up late my hours for my tank are

monday - thursday Lights on 1 PM off 1 AM ( 2 65 watt attinics and 1 150 watt 20k MH ) moonlights on when lights are off
friday - sunday Lights on 4 PM off 4AM ( same lights ) moonlights are only on when lights are off

I was thinking of changing the cycle of the MH to only 8 hours a day , see how that works and leave the other 2 65 watts on for 12 .
