might want to try the tropic eden sand, that is being sold by PA. On RC lots of people rave about it, and it i've got no complaints. It's super white, and really nice side. It didn't make the tank nearly as cloudy as i was expecting, and within a day or two, the water was crystal clear. Two 750 hydor powerheads have not blown any particles into the water, but i did do a quick rinse before using the sand. I've been using mini-reef flakes, but i think i'm going to buy a bag or two of the regular reef flakes.
I use Down Bottom sand I believe no longer available forsale its a fine grade and some of the whitest sand I have ever seen if you can get your hands on some of that you can't go wrong
Whatever you end up with make sure it has some bigger bits in it. It makes the Pistol Shrimps life much easier. Either that or smash some left over rock real good and add that to where the shrimp is.
