What the Hoot is This

I’ve looked at my three hitchhiker sites and can’t find this little creature. I’ve only found them on the sides or bottoms of frag plugs that have been in the sand. Most are about 1/8 inch long…found one about 3/16 inches.

Here are two of the little buggers on the side of a frag plug.

Mike, it's chiton you're thinking of. I thought that was a possibility, but do they come this small? I've only seen chiton that were considerably larger.

I'm trying to think of a clever comment that has to do fish food but I think I am sick or something because it's not working.

Yea, they look like chitons to me too. I've had some small ones that I first thought were just some sort of snail, but they grew larger after time.

They are pretty good algae grazers.
