What did I get for Black Friday……I got an education…..to NEVER go out shopping again on Black Friday.


You first need to know that I never go shopping. I haven’t bought cloths for myself in 30 years. I have a shop-aholic wife who buys me everything.

Somehow my wife got me to go out Thanksgiving Eve to go shopping. I’m only guessing I had one too many to be talked into this. (As a side note, I think it is totally wrong for stores to be open Thanksgiving.)

She took me to Kohls…..for the first time. We walked in and she picked up a few thinks. As we walked around I commented about the “line” I was seeing. When we were thinking about leaving, she now noticed the “line” that went totally around the inside of the store. This was the line to pay. Again, went totally around the inside of the store…..hundreds of people I can only guess that it was multiple hours to check out. I insisted she put the stuff down she had in her hands, and we walked out.

Sadly though I had to opt for a 6 cyl only since I tend to pile up miles with 110 mile round trip to work.

Nice choice! Optima is definitely a nice ride. I've been eyeing one for awhile now. I'm actually very fond of the recent models Kia/Hyundai have been producing.

I saw one of those at the Kia dealer where I bought my 2000 Mazda 626. The salesman had to drive me from the to the parent dealer across the parking lot to sign paperwork in his Optima, I was surprised at how nice it was, inside and out. And I got a pretty good deal on my Mazda. I guess no one wanted a 5 speed in a mid size sedan. I'll take it though...no one ever asks to borrow the car, just the way I like it.

For black friday though, I got myself about 100lbs of Marco Rocks. Coming today, so the Fed Ex guy can't be happy, lol.

Def enough power. and I can deal with the mileage I get with the six. Visibility though is one of the worst I've ever encountered in any vehicle. Though I can deal with it.

You did well yourself. I had planned to go look at that but never got past the Chevy dealer. I did also look at the Chrysler 200S, nice car, but something about it made me pass. Can't explain it though. You are right about the blindspots though. Backing up is not going to be as easily done as in the past.
