The first pics look like red slime algae (which is technically bacteria).

You may be right on the second set of pictures but they are a little too blurry to be certain to me.

hmm...wasnt talking about what was on the rock i thought that was coraline ??? if you look whats coming off the rock that black looking thing it looks like a shrunkin coral or something i cant fig out what it is..if that is red slime what can i do to keep it under controll or get rid of it...snails?? haha shows you what you get when u trade things for live rock :-[ thanks for the advice

I would let the rocks sit in the tank for a few weeks/month without light to cycle/cook the rock and the algae (and excess nutrients) should go away for good. Don't add anything living to the tank yet either.

Also don't worry about the stomatellas, they are good to have.

good to hear right now its bin sitting with about 80lbs of live rock for about a month maybe a little less last night i added that rock wich was about 50 to 60 more lbs and i wanted to add some rubble to the sump in a couple more days also have a refuge with a dsb right now and phosban reactor is on its way in the mail is it ok to start getting a cleaning crew snails and hermits right now or you wouldnt recomend that

If the red comes off easy its red slim if it don't it's not... best thing to do is next water change is fill a 5gl with the old water place the rock in the 5gl and give it a light brush with a new nylon brush

Well if you added rock you should wait because you will probably have a cycle. I would wait to add things and light because it will give the rock some time to digest all the extra nutrients that are causing that algae.

the alagae was on the rock when i got it its more purplish in person ill try and take it out and scrub it to see if it will come off it doesnt look like it would come off like that tho

It's not coraline algae if that is what you are thinking. You need to be patient and cook the rocks or it will just come back again.

theres millions of eggs on the back of the tank can that be from the sstomatellas breeding?? is this a good thing or can they take over the tank
