Where are you selling your used hardware?

Hi all, I need to get rid of a big reef tank, was wondering if anyone has some advice on where to sell it since big tanks are usually a local thing I tried on a New york site and it seemed there was a lot of interest but no one wanted to make the trip. I have a feeling the logistics of picking the thing up had something to with it or people just like to enquire about things they never intended to buy in the first place.

some lfs. will sell it on consignment. however you lose 1/3 of the cost that way.
If your a member there is the deal&Steal site to sell to fellow members. Newspaper add.

Try ReefCentral. The local forum is used for a lot of sales. Craigslist is another good opportunity.

henrye, best places are reefcentral, manhattanreefs, and craigslist. not too much stuff on reef2reef. but those 3 are your best bet.

check out those new SWC cones. their price range is similiar to the vertex and a bit above the bubble magus. i'm loving the vertex right now. you can come by sometime to check it out if you want.

Also coral2sell has a hardware section. Ebay can be a last resort.

Uh... I'm not home, so I suppose anything is possible (though more likely if I was home and he wasn't, lol). I did talk to him earlier and he didn't mention selling (nor moving).

Thanks everyone I will try everything mentioned till it sells I guess. I am moving to a new place and its gona be either second or third floor for my tanks so the big tanks have to go, switching to smaller ones..


I bought this one for now along with a 160watt Maxspect LED fixture.

Maybe in the future get another similair, 1000 island in brooklyn is supposed to be getting 18 different sized tanks in this style soon.

Have not recieved it yet, getting it from a group buy that started on reefers central. Will ship Wed, so maybe I will see it by the following Wed.
