Where have all the Boys gone?

I’ve spent the entire day yesterday, and about an hour today, working on my screened in porch. (I wish someone would buy that 100 gallon tank so that I could finish by painting the floor) Just off my porch, I have a humming bird feeder. It is frequented every couple of minutes. The entire time I was on the porch, both yesterday and today, I saw nothing but female hummers. Not a single male! Where are the males?

My hummingbirds were here twice earlier this season and haven't seen them since? Nothing changed since I have had them for 3 years, but I don't see them anymore?

Don,
your birs flew across my backyard other days and ....
you know where it goes now :)

The hummingbirds are off the nest now. You are seeing both females and juveniles of both sexes, they don't get the red until after the first molt.

Good year for the hummers so far, most in the last 3 years!

I agree......a bumper crop of hummers this year. I went so far as buying the next larger size feeder.

Here in Jackson we too have seen more than ever hummers.I dont have a feeder for them but we do have a deck full of flowers they seem to love.Glad someone else on here is a bird watcher too :)

I plannt stuff for them too. I always grwo cigar plant (Cuphea ignea) and I'm growing an odd perennial called Crocacia. I let the milkweed run wild, they like that, along with some blue sage. I have even considered letting Japanes Honeysuckle into my yard, but so far have resisted the temptation.
