White stuff on leather?

So I just moved this leather from my nano to my new tank and I've noticed this white stuff has appeared. Anything to worry about? Also my water param test this morning. Ph stays close to 8.2

My leathers have done this before, they shed the outer layer of skin/slime every few months. Mine go back to normal after about a week.

It's hard to tell from the photos, but it looks like the ammonia is at 0.50 ppm. Did your tank go through it's cycle? I believe there shouldn't be any ammonia if the tank is cycled. Leathers do shead skin, but sometimes from stress. If there's ammonia, I'd move it back to your nano until your ammonia and nitrite read zero.

I agree it's tough to tell. And I think I already went though a cycle, a mini one perhaps. Is it possible to have two?

Ill keep checking params daily and probably move leather back for now.

Thanks
