Why do i need a trident

Got a trident maybe 6 months ago when i was still trying for LPS and SPS. I have given up on everything except for BTAs. I dont think there is a reason at all for a Trident. Weekly testing should be completely fine...anyone disagree?

I have a tank full of sps and I don't want or need a trident.

You don’t need it. You can test with Hanna for alk in like 10min

I use the Trident as a back up for when I get LRS. It saved me when the salt I was using had super low mag and I did a water change and my mag tanked

I wouldn't run an sps tank without a trident. If your not into acros then you don't need a trident. If you have anemones only you probably don't ever need to test for alk/cal. I know I never do on my clownfish tanks.
