Wild v. farmed zoa propagation

Anyone ever notice a propagation difference?

Most zoas I've bought have been frags, assumed tank grown.
Recently purchased 2 interesting medium colonies (50-80 polyps), dripping seawater, ocean picked.
Inspecting tank today and their polyps are taking hold in at least 4 places on rock. 2 polyps in my filter and 1 stuck to the filter pad of the MP10. Parent colonies are doing fine and expanding.

This tank is small and very controlled, no predators. I do have an emerald crab, but he's well fed and content, never bothers the softies.

Is this normal for all zoas when they hit medium to large colony size?
Is this a wild zoa thing?
I'd love to think that I may have Rastas from my frag free floating some day.

I have seen this in wild colonies for some reason. Seems like it may be from collection and or the rock they are growing on being broken when collected. But this is just a guess

I saw my emerald crab rock some zoas- well he was picking around it and in the morning they were gone.

That said I moved them and they keep falling off so I might have hurt them, and he ate them?
