I have no idea how/how fast/how often. But the answer to your last question is, if you buy 3 they will grow more. Just no answer as to how fast ... I guess it depends on lighting, feeding, and other tank conditions.

I bought 2 PPE's from steve the middle of October cut them 2 weeks ago and now have about 5-6 mouths forming.
What do you mean by "cut them"?
I got 3 and a baby from Sinkingbeach in August and now I have 5 full heads. Wondering what cutting them is cause I'd be willing to try it on one of the heads.

I grow ppe like crazy .. I got 1 polyp from Jose last april I sold about 6 polyps and still have 14 polyps...so from 6 months periosd I grew that 1 polyp to 20

I feed them, have them all over my tank , lots of flow
Here is a pic of one of my PPE on a high light .. starting to have speckles on it...
some zoos are different than others. some are fast growers some are slow growers. tank conditions are also a factor as stated above in previous posts.for me they seeem to need some space to grow out. if you place them on a plug and fill the plug they seem to slow thier growth rates. stick another plug next to it and then they have something to grow to and start to spread again. cutting is as simple as cutting between the polyps with a razor.

Not the mouth Mike, from what I read, cut the base of the polyp, between the 2 polyps I've yet to try it so your on your own

I still don't see how that would make them grow faster. I see that they are connected, even thought they are pretty spread out. I guess if you cut the connecting "flesh", in the process of healing, they grow another head. That's the only way I can see that working.
Mike that's the way it is explained in the link, apparently the injury creates more cells and bam they start taking off 8)

I had been following Mvites thread and also tried fragging my PPE's. I had gotten a single polyp of PPE ( From Mvite actually!)
when it had grown to three polyps I fragged off one head. That was about three weeks to a month ago. Both frags seem healthy, but no new growth on either frag since..... :-[
