    Thanks Phyl. I had blocks in there originally and was hoping I could get away without them. I already added three of the blocks back (fourth has stripped screws so I need to cut another) so I guess that's the direction I'll take.

    I have retro vho and MH light kits in my canopy. Am interested to know if I should screw the standoffs for the vho's into the canopy or first screw a block into the canopy and then the standoffs into the block? Does it make a difference? By using a block this will lower the vho's by the size of...

    Other than having the coralline algae on the live rock what advantages then are there to purchasing Live Rock over dry rock? I'm wondering if it's better to save money and purchase the dry rock instead especially since you should eventually get the coralline to grow on it.

    I think you got lucky Candi. I soaked mine, rinsed them off in the shower and still had a terrible stench. Wish I were as lucky as you in that regard.

    what species is best to fight aiptasia??

    The Copperband Butterfly eats it but once the aiptasia is gone you may have trouble getting it to eat anything else. I have 2 peppermint shrimps in my 120 and they seem to have it under control. Aiptasia was growing in my tank but since I've gotten the peppermints I've not seen anymore of it.
