Agree. If new ride it out. I am going through this with my 30g. The 80g been up for years so doing the Vodka thing.

Thanks Paul. I know it's a slow process. I am startin out with 3ml daily for the first week. Per some chart I found. I estimate total volume to be 100g. Tank 80g and sump 36g minus displacement from sand and rock. Once I get the proper daily dose will add it to my doser.

Are you using a doser or doing it manually?

Decided to Vodka dose and today was my 1st day. I was going to wait but now I see algae on the glass and not just coralline.

I did chemiclean several times and did not help.

My tank is several years old and as of last week Nitrate is 3 and Phosphate 0.15. I don't consider these numbers high; if I am wrong chime in. Not sure if I should try this or dose Vodka.

Next question for the chemists. If using calcium carbonate will it increase calcium?
