I have a healthy yellow candy hogfish to rehome. I got him last year fully quarantined and treated from ReefPro and he’s been in my DT since then. He eats everything including frozen, flake, and live foods. Beautiful fish and I hate to see him go.
Only reason I’m getting rid of him is because...
Wow, that's awful... I have a RSR 450 so that scares me. Why would they ask you to keep it confidential? Are they willing to do anything for you? If not, you should definitely be telling everyone you can.
Like Trio said, the small tank is the ATO reservoir that comes with the RSR tanks. It sits on top of the sump right above the filter socks. It's a gravity-fed ATO that's attached to the float valve. Some people convert it into a refugium though.
The tall tank isn't something standard that comes...
Simple solution. Get the Red Sea filter media cups. I believe that they're non-standard size so you'll have to get them from Red Sea. Just use those with filter floss which you can toss. That's what I did when I had my RSR 450 stock sump.
I don't think mushrooms are likely to sting the clowns. White slime sounds like Brooklynella maybe? Though maybe it's something with parameters if you're also losing snails and possibly a shrimp.
What are you thinking of medicating with? Many of the meds wouldn't necessarily be safe for inverts...
This guy never got picked up. Still have him. If anyone's interested, please let me know. Can be picked up at 07932 or nearby. I'm also going down to Reefco around 11 AM tomorrow and can bring him.
I bought mine from Reefco a couple months ago. I've seen them recently at Absolutely Fish as well. Most important thing is to see if you can find one that's already eating in the store. Buying one that isn't eating is a little hit or miss, but if you find one that's eating, they're generally...
I'll be setting up a 4' x 2' frag tank soon. I'm looking to pick up an appropriate sized sump (thinking 30-40 gallons). I have a smaller cube sump, but I'd like something with a decent footprint that I can get a decent amount of live rock or refugium into, plus skimmer and possibly reactor. If...
I dunno… always done it that way. When I didn’t run UV in the past I would eventually get cloudy water or some sort of bacterial bloom over time. Haven’t had any issues since I started running UV and I’ve run all my fish through Copper Power before going into the DT.
They seem raised, and maybe the scales are raised slightly too. Not necessarily peeling at this time. Hard to see though. I'm just surprised that anything would pop up now. It doesn't look like anything I could easily identify. Didn't know if it was Brooklynella, but there's been nothing...
I have several pink streaked wrasses in QT. Have been prophylactically treating with Copper Power (above 2.0) for the past month. Also have UV on the tank but haven’t administered any other meds. They’ve looked healthy and were eating all throughout that time.
I was going to get them out of QT...
