Biota said the breeder won't be breeding these anymore that's why they are $10k. That's a shame, it looks like it could be an interesting looking fish.
It appears Biota has bred a cross between the yellow and purple tang. Only 12 in captivity for sale now. Only 10 grand and it can be yours!

When I lived in Neptune we could have chickens and roosters. I donated the rooster to the popcorn zoo because i didn't want him to annoy my neighbors. When we get chickens again this spring they will be all hens.
Came home today and one of them has this red blotch and he’s on his side. Breathing normal and will have bursts of energy from time to time. He hasn’t eaten yet and just dosed some Maracyn. Any other recommendations?
Of course Hawaii shut down right after I set up the 125 and couldn’t get these. I was finally able to convince the wife to get a few. Of course when she saw the picture she almost had a heart attack thinking I got 4 lol
I just ordered 2 yellow tangs from biota to be delivered on Tuesday. I’d like to keep them in an observation tank for a month or until they’re big enough to go into the main display. I have a 10 gallon that they can start in and if I need I can put them in the 40 breeder down the road. I’ve...
Yes I do have some hardy acros but Chris Mekley at aci aquaculture says he worries more about pH than Alk. I’m pretty nervous myself and have my fingers crossed.
I’m dosing kalkwasser also and yes Andre doesn’t recommend it due to precipitation but I know a lot of people dose kalk to their tanks without issue. I’m just looking for the moonshiners method to add the trace elements and do way less water changes.
I've been dosing Kalk for 2 weeks and trying a new method. I'm dosing to keep my PH between 8.2 and 8.3 and I'm dosing about 6,000ml of saturated Kalk in a bucket (150gal system) through my DOS and my alk has gone from about 8.2 to 12 which has me concerned however i was told this was perfectly...
I’m gathering info now on it. Not too much as far as reviews but the few I’ve seen are very positive. I see there’s a FB group I may join to get more info. I have an ICP test coming so I’ll see what I need to dose and read the handbook in the meantime.
It appears to be a lot of work in the beginning and a lot of upfront cost for the supplements. But after a few months it appears to get easier. The ICP tests tell you what you need to dose and the calculator tells you how much.
