Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
The aquarium alone is worth the trip. Better if combined with a B&B weekend and some winery hopping, but that messes with the logistics of a frag swap.

Flash forward to the present. The Bartlett's Anthias that I brought home from the frag swap are in the display tank now after a few weeks of quarantine. So far, they are getting along ok, although I suspect that I have more than one male.
I'll be there. Herb, if there is any food item I could bring that will fill a hole, let me know. These meetings tend to run pretty dessert-heavy, so I'm not volunteering one of those.
The 210 was started with Tampa Bay live rock, which was loaded with all sorts of life, including a couple of mantis shrimp and this really cool looking algae.
I got this acro at Hidden Reef. They originally had it for sale as a colony and then broke it up as frags. It may have been the most...
Boy, are my old photos disorganized. I finally found pictures of the 210 gallon tank. Based on the photo dates, I set it up in 2004, not 2003. Sorry about the small pictures, but they were resized for the web technology and monitors of that ancient, prehistoric time.
This is the tank after...
Since I am very late to the tale of the tank game, I'm going to do this as a series of flashbacks. I'll start with this Cliff Notes history. Like many, I have been keeping fish since childhood, starting with fresh water fish. After I was married in 1979, my wife and I set up housekeeping in an...
I replaced my sump and return pump, repaired the epuipment room walls, and converted my skimmer from external to internal, all in a day, but only with a LOT of preplanning. Multiple emergency trips to the hardware store and LFS can suck the life out of you. I feel your pain.

I'll take obcure historical reef accessories for $200. The Silent Surge. A dump bucket-style wavemaker. It was a tank that hung on the wall. It filled and dumped its contents, much like a toilet flush.

This predates Arduino. There were no powerbars when this came out. I had one and everything was X10. I had a big bag of X10 modules lying around until a couple of years ago. Tossed.
I think the DC4 and DC8 bars might work with the AC2, but I didn't start using those until I upgraded to the...
Here is what I picked up at the swap. Pardon the cell phone pics.
Jason Fox deep purple acro with green tips (unnamed).
Dr. Mac knobby gorgonian.
Mess o'Bartlett's Anthias from TCM.
Also won the raffle for the Chevron tang from TCM.
