I didn't know that the DCx boxes don't work with the new Apex. I have 2 DC4s. I wasnt contemplating one anyway, since I have 2 classics (bought replacement when the first one died and subsequently got the first one fixed). I use the Socket Extender, now discontiued, for my chiller.

It is in my garage. The new one is 46" long. Part of the reason for replacing it is that the shelf it is on has gotten water damaged over the years. Swapping it out will be an all day project. When i am done, it will all be a lot more waterproof.

The usual. Water change. Getting ready to replace my sump in a couple of weeks. The one I have I built myself and it is falling apart. Ordered the new one from Geo's Reef. Replacing my return and skimmer pumps, too.

Looks like a hardware problem. Neptune had me try a hard reset and some cable swapping, but nothing helped. I may have been premature about not losing anything to this. My daughter-in-law noticed that my flame hawk was AWOL. Crap!

Looks like everything is ok. The temperature didn't drop as much as I thought. Turns out that the digital thermometer I used to check the temperature is way off. I don't think i had any casualties.
Still no help from Neptune, though. From what i have read, it can take a week to get anything...
Have pumps running and heaters on. Not much to do until tomorrow. Have a ticket in with Neptune, but ran out of day. I can put lights back on the AI controller. Looks like the controller died around 2:30 AM.
I thought of you when I saw that tank was dark and cold.

My Apex died at some point after last night. Came home from work tonight to a dark tank. 65 degrees, no pumps running. That should finish off most of the corals. Have to see how the fish fare, but I'm not optimistic.

Seven years? My Tunze 6100s have been running since 2003 with a cleaning about every six months. In that time, I've replaced one impeller.

After my tank broke catastrophically, I thought of getting out. That lasted about six weeks. Seems like a lot of work sometimes, but it leaves a void if it is not there.

I could host a South meeting. Any month that is not during Shore season (May - Sept) as long as everyone promises not to look at my dirty old tank.

After reading through the Deltec manual, the biggest difference I see is that it is intended to operate on a continuous feed, not an fill and dump cycle like the Natureef. I'm not sure which would be more effective. From what I understand about the Natureef, the conversion of nitrates is not...
