Where are you located? I can hook you up with a couple easy and pretty corals if you are nearby
Edit: I see you're in Brick, I'm in Tinton Falls. If you can pick up I'm willing to give you some hardy and pretty frags :)
Even if your parameters are perfect you will still have some algae. Agree with saltkreep, try and check your nitrates and phosphates. If they are high try and lower them a bit. Maybe feed a little less or upgrade your clean up crew.
I reccomend you pull as much hair algae as you can out by...
I don't have anything great because my tank is still new but I'm slowly getting it better looking each day. Here are some of my favorite shots so far.
Also if anybody has tips for making pictures come out better under blue on my phone that would be awesome!

Where are you located? I am thinking of getting a BTA.
Just so you know this thread area is not meant for "for sale", just free things. I believe paid members have access to a for sale thread though :)

Yeah, they came out at like 6:30 lol. It's not that often I have corals that want to be fed the day I get them, usually they neee to settle in a few days

Thanks. I tried to squirt some of the supernate formed when defrosting frozen food onto it when I first got it but it didn't have feeding tentacles out at the time. I'm going to only feed my fish for two weeks or so so I can let the tank balance out with new livestock since I increased my...
Well thank you! It is my first LPS and already had its feeding tentacles out tonight so I think its happy with its placement. I've never heard of a goniastrea before but agree it looks more like that

I got this guy as a gift from my aunt today when I walked by it in ACC and said it was really nice. Had no clue she was getting it but when I was checking on my new fish and inverts in the car I saw it and thought the guy at the register accidentally gave me somebody elses coral lol
I feel like...
Definitely worth going IMO! The sales are wonderful and there are a lot of fun things as well as food outside. I got a pair of mocha clowns, a banded starfish, 2 nassarius snails and this crazy favia for like $160 total

I just got these guys on a coral I bought today and as soon as I saw them I thought of this thread. Now I'm even more curious as to what they are. Either way, they are buried in my sand now lol

I don't have those lights so not sure about intensity. Everybodys timing is different and I would reccomend you run it based on when you can enjoy it. Just try and get 8-12 hours a day. Ramp up/down 30 minutes. Moonlight until you go to bed, or later if you want. Personally I don't use...
I have maybe 10 pounds or so which should be enough to at least seed some bacteria in. It is also covered with coralline so it should help seed the tank with that. When it comes to filling the tank I would just try and find dry rock as it's usually 1/3 the price of live. I will be on the lookout...
I have an Eshopps overflow. Not going to lie, my biggest regret with my tank is not drilling it though. The Eshopps overflow hasn't lost siphon after multiple power outages. The only complaint I have is that it's pretty loud, but I would think that all HOB overflows are like that

Very sorry to hear about him. I have been strongly affected by cancer personally so I would like to do whatever I can to help out.
I can't help with much of the equipment but I would love to donate some corals and my time.
