This morning I woke up and immediately knew what happened. I didn't see my longnose hawk on the powerhead, gorgonian, or algae clip. I looked around the floor and eventually found him behind the sump.
I'm so upset by this [emoji17]
I knew they were jumpers but figured as long as I didn't mess...
I knew all gorgonians liked to eat but wasn't sure which ones were NSP. I think I will be trying ACC's Coral Candy next time I go there. Hoping to go back in a week or two and get some more corals

I believe it is photosynthetic but I know not all gorgonians are. I know usually the less colorful ones are photosynthetic but I quite like this one

Thank you [emoji4]
I will try, hoping he opens up today. I've had pretty good luck but the store owner said he wasn't sure how well he would do in a 3 month old tank especially since I'm new to the hobby but he said since I have a monti growing I could probably handle it

The nem is a bit closed up looking and moved about an inch during the night. I would love to move him to a better viewing spot but I won't ever risk injuring my animals. I'm just surprised where he is honestly. Pretty low light and about zero flow

Mine is recieving direct flow from the powerhead and a little bit that is bouncing off the glass. He is also placed in the middle of my tank where the lighting is medium. Seems like a happy camper where he is.
Not sure about my flower anemone though. I'm not sure how to read them and he's also...
I will update you in a few weeks but currently he is very happy. Like I said there was polyp expansion in minutes but ACC has some of the healthiest specimens I've seen after all of my travels so they might just be so good it traveled into my tank haha

I was looking for a mini carpet but he suggested that I consider a flower instead since I couldn't find any stores with the mini's after quite a while. He gave me some care tips on it and it was honestly my first ever impulse buy in the hobby but I'm pretty sure I can handle it

Thank you very much for the info! I thought it should be fed about half of the time. It's funny because I feel like I know so much after so many hours of research but I fortunately am self aware of how little I know about reefing in the grand scheme. Always love to learn new information that can...
Thank you! I have considered it many times and I know close observation isn't as good as QT but I quite literally have no extra space for one. My room is about 10x10 and I have a full sized bed, a desk with my computer and my tank. My parents won't let me have my animal stuff in other rooms or...
Wanted to share my latest additions to my tank. I purchased a purple ribbon gorgonian and a very pretty flower anenome from Aquarium Care Center in Ocean today and I could not be happier. I began to see polyp expansion after about 5 minutes in the tank and of course my longnose hawk made himself...
I just had my mom pick up garlic today since I heard fish love the taste and it is very good for them. You just mash it up to get the juices in a cup of tank water, strain it and then soak the pellets in the garlic water right?

I was curious about what everyone feeds their fish, and I figured that a lot of other people could also benefit from hearing about other people's experiences feeding their fish.
So, what does everybody feed to their fish? Currently I feed NLS small fish formula as well as PE mysis and sometimes...
I'm still holding it for someone, will wait a few weeks and if he doesn't want it or anything I will move onto the next person

The middle isn't white at all, so I guess that's good. I don't have any coral food at the moment since I'm a beginner (only have GSP, a toadstool and this monti) but I planned on getting coral candy from one of my LFS (this one is ACC, I know a lot of people here are familiar with it). I've...
I didn't notice it moving when I moved it, I thought it kinda just looked like a rock and slowly grew under proper conditions lol. It's just your average red/orange monti cap

A really noob question I'm sure, but anyway, I don't really like any SPS except montipora. I bought this frag around a month ago for $10 but I'm not sure if it's doing okay. I had it under a light that kept it alive but not growing and just the other day switched to good lighting. Would you guys...
If you absolutely aren't willing to remove the rock, here is my reccomendation.
Get a little hand held razor blade and cut off as much as you can by slicing at the edges and pushing underneath until it pops off. You can trade that into your LFS or if you have room, throw it in the sump and it...
