    Dead Fish

Although there was a sand storm, it didnt really tear up the DSB, just the surface of the DSB for only like four or five square inch where the most turbulence was. At that spot especially the DSB was quite thick and so I was thinking if I reduce the thickness by moving the sand to another spot...

turning off closed loop at night

I have been wanting to know if it is okay to switch off all the pump(s) during the night. I have read at least three tank of the month articles in RC where the owners say that they switch off completely so as to give the fish and corals some quiet time during the night.

    Dead Fish

I finally (once again) hooked up the display tank to the basement sump. No leaks to be found which was a big relief. I ran the pump for about an hour last night and it kicked up a wind storm in my display tank. Apparently there is lots of flow coming to the tank. I thought I'll turn off the pump...

    Microbubbles in display tank

Yes, it is simply peace of mind. I have two little percula clowns that come to the top of the water and splash the water (yeah, they think they are shamu). Moreover, once I was little lazy in cleaning the sock under the cabinet that filters the water goes out of the tank, that nearly spoiled the...

    Live sand

I think I'll get some of this HD sand and then mix it with some live sand. I read in RC that this is very fine sand, so I would like to buy some normal aragonite live sand and mix with it. I have live sand in my tank that I can use to seed, but I would like to add more live sand to my fuge. Thanks!

    Live sand

I want to buy sand, some live and some non-live for my refugium. What is the cheapest sand that I can get? Has anyone tried the sand that they sell in Ebay for a buck or two shipped?

    Microbubbles in display tank

I hooked up the display tank to the basement sump and ran the pump briefly. I got tonnes of micro bubbles in the display tank. I also noticed leaks in two spots in the plumbing. One was near the pump where I had put some teflon tape earlier. The other one was by the thread near the flexible...

Where do you scratch the most?

Ok, I didn't notice the "most" part. Anyway, I am an equal opportunity scratcher. So I am going to abstain this time.
