Although there was a sand storm, it didnt really tear up the DSB, just the surface of the DSB for only like four or five square inch where the most turbulence was. At that spot especially the DSB was quite thick and so I was thinking if I reduce the thickness by moving the sand to another spot...
I have been wanting to know if it is okay to switch off all the pump(s) during the night. I have read at least three tank of the month articles in RC where the owners say that they switch off completely so as to give the fish and corals some quiet time during the night.

I want to buy sand, some live and some non-live for my refugium. What is the cheapest sand that I can get? Has anyone tried the sand that they sell in Ebay for a buck or two shipped?
I hooked up the display tank to the basement sump and ran the pump briefly. I got tonnes of micro bubbles in the display tank. I also noticed leaks in two spots in the plumbing. One was near the pump where I had put some teflon tape earlier. The other one was by the thread near the flexible...
How can I drill a Rubbermaid? I dont have a dremel. Can I use the regular spade bit to make a hole for bulkhead?
The bulkheads - Should the thread be inside the tank or outside? Sorry first time...
