As far as i know, there isn't a solid, bullet-proof way to rid yourself of Dinos. You could try a few things: Vibrant - Which i have mixed views about but worth a shot, Micro Scrubbing, or just removing the pieces from your display.

Just keep up with the maintenance and you will be ok. Also like mentioned the sump will allow you to keep most of the equipment out of your display tank
I'm a short guy so for me even the 36" tall stand is tough. I'd never be able to reach the bottom if I'd had to get my hand in there.

Personally I'm an ASM Skimmer fan. Not the pretiest, not so quiet, but definitely an industry work horse. I have a G1 model that worked flawlessly when I was running my old tank.
