My heaters are off unless the temperature drops below a certain point. The Neptune then powers them on to gain the right temp and powers them off if it exceeds a certain temp. I don't trust heaters at all. I have one for my water change that is set to 74 but make water 80 degrees.
I was told that you needed the newest version of software to use these, not sure if that is still true. The price is also about double the Ehiem to gain the neptune integration. Wish they priced it more like the other automatic feeders.

Post sandy was the rip off time, i got quotes that were pathetic. Having said that I had ours installed in August, 20Kw Natural Gas, with auto transfer switch and 3 load shedding modules. Everything together cost me 9300. I did get some quotes in the 9s, some in the 10s and then a crazy one...
i had the same thing happen to me. Took apart the air intake attached to the pump and it was clogged with calcium build up. I actually had to thread a screw threw it in order to clear it. Fixed the problem though.
I would imagine the sump pump is made to handle it. It gets all sorts of dirt, and minerals from the ground water. Don't they also use pumps like this for boats?
