Hawkeye....the traffic was not bad at all!! And we traveled during rush hour a few times. And In-N-Out Burger was awesome!! But you are right....everything is 15-20 miles away....Where her uncle lives in Oceanside, they are trying to build up a lot, but it's not quite there yet.

I went out to Oceanside, CA about an hour north of San Diego and wow...what a gorgeous area of the country!! MOuntains everywhere, then the Pacific Coast where the cliffs just fall off into the water!!

The candy cane is looking 100 times better. I moved it to a spot with less flow and now the heads seem to be getting fat again. Maybe it was nothing more than too much flow. I'm gone from my tank until June 13,that makes me nervous, but we shall see what it looks like when I get back.

I just looked for and found the receipt for thos MH Bulbs.
They were shipped to me on 10/9....so I probably got them and installed them in the fixture and were using them by 10/20. I got my new fixture and stopped using yours on 12/21 so the bulbs you have are 8 months old at this point. But...
I don't remember exactly...I can dig up the receipt though to find out when I bought them...they are probably around 6 months old at this point as I've had my fixture about 6 months.
I'm also with Hawk...the actinics won't really fuel algae growth...it's the daylight T5 bulbs and the such that...
Ok...then IMO...what you want is to replace the Halides with 20K bulbs...they are the most blue you can get in a DE Halide. Then you can always run the actinics all day if you want as well, which will give you a much deeper blue.
