No answer your question directly....I find that Salifert kits are usually the most accurate. But also check out the Hanna Colorimeters...they are coming out with new ones all the time and I find those even better than Salifert kits.

I ordered and received the lye....I just have to go buy some Kalk and then I can try this. What I am concerned with are the fish in the tank. If a fish swims into the lye that is on an aptasia, will it affect the fish? Are we sure the lye does nothing to the water composition?

Is there anyone local or semi local to me in East Hanover, 07936 that has an Aptasia zapper? My tank in getting overrun with them and will soon be at plague proportions! IT's really bad right now! They are everywhere. I've tried kalk, peppermints, manual removal, cut backed feedings, etc with...

20K is definitely the way to go. At that high of a color temp you will not have as much growth as you would with say a 12K, but your colors will be awesome. I went in the middle with 14K Phoenix bulbs...gives me good growth and good color. But for that deep blue/purple look you definitely want...
