I'm with Steve on this. And Darren if your running a calcium reactor with reborn or some other coral skeleton media aren't you getting Ca and trace elements out of the dissolved media? It's one of the reasons I run the reactor.

I just got my 300 set up about a month ago. I am running 3 brs reactors with a total of about 700 ml ekobac pellets. I have cheto in my sump and am running a RO 3000 skimmer. And felt socks. Nothing else. My water was adjusting in the first few weeks. I had lots of alge on my glass. Now...

I put my tunzes in a configuration where there is good upper level turbulence with mild flow at the lower levels. It's a 300 gallon so it took time and plenty of fiddling. I have 2 on the weir side and one on the opposite wall. Makes a great mix. 2 are rated up to 300 g or so and one is...

I also test for calcium and alk. I keep a daily eye on my ph meter because of my ca reactor. I have been doing 50 gal water changes on my 300 every 2 weeks. Keep in mind I run about 1500 ml of ekobac pellets which helps. Like others have said my tank gives me signs of its overall health...

Got my 300 up. Wife wants 150 gone. It's drilled and water tight. Just took it down tonight. Free! You have to come and get it. It's in good shape. Not perfect but hey for free you can't complain! In howell.
