    Go calibrate your refractometer people!!

HAHA, I reminded you, and did not check myself. Did not think my tank would low because I have not changed water, but I have been skimming wet. I think skimming wet wet was enough to do it.

    Go calibrate your refractometer people!!

Hey Guys, So I decided to calibrate the refractometer tonight. After I did, I went and checked the tank and it was 1.022!! I guess it lowered slowly from skimmate. So question, how often do you guys calibrate your meters? , Joe

Any other cigar smokers in the club?

I enjoy a good cigar and bourbon on a night like this. Right now I am enjoying a padron 2000. I also enjoy brickhouse, and Alec Bradley American classic. What are your favorites??

Crack in tank brace by overflow.

Personally, it would make me nervous because it was holding pressure off the seams. I would lower the water level and see if the gap/crack closes, if it does I would be concerned.

Crack in tank brace by overflow.

Can you try to get a better picture? Less blue and a wider shot so we can see where on the tank it is.

    IM40 startup

You know best for your tank, and I am not saying you are doing it wrong. But one thing to remember is corals do not add up the total light from the day, they are healthiest when they receive the optimum level of peak light during the day. So 100 par for 8 hours, does not equal 400 par for 2...

    IM40 startup

That's sounds to low. I would start around 30 blue, 15 white and a 5-6 hour period.

Looks great, just be careful with that new light. It is much stronger than the jbj.

Keep a closer eye on alk, than the other two and adjust slowly as needed. New tanks take more attention.

Other things will use up alk... phosphate remover, new sand, coralline algae etc.

Fyi, my tank uses over a dkh of alk a day.

    Dan's 150 Rebuild

The high calcium and mag is from the rc salt. The levels aren't normally quite that high but close, the rest is probably test kit noise. With that said, you will always see alk lower much faster because there is MUCH less alk in the water compared to the other two elements. For every dkh alk...

It will not go bad, ph might lower so i would add a powerhead to the container for a little before you use it.
