I just saw this unfortunately I'm on my way out the door. I have salt water already made up or RO/DI water I can give you. I'm located in Piscataway. I will be back around 7:00. The carbon just sitting in the tank without flow is going to do little. Another large water change is your best bet.

The timer wasn't overload it was controlling my lights which were under the amp rating of the strip. I also had it mounted on the inside wall of my stand so it never contacted water. I now use a AC Jr. and as far a buying anything that remotely looks like the Coralife Timer, run away, these...
My RO/DI unit is in my unheated garage and I want to avoid it freezing. Is there a low voltage tape or wrap I can install around it? In the past I put a spot light about 8 inches away from the unit but I'm looking for a better solution. Thanks in advance.

Take a look at the Current Outer Orbit fixtures. For that price you could get the 2 X 250w MHs with 4 x 39W T5s. It also comes with 18 moonlights (9 white and 9 blue)each type of light has it's own switch (MHS, T5s, white LEDs and blue LEDs - 4 switches)

It sounds like you have 2 different flow rates. The gph of the fuge intake isn't large enough to keep up with your skimmer output. Is the skimmer body full before turn it on?
